Located in level, rough rush-grown pasture. There is a stream 100m to E. The townland boundary coincides with the N−S course of the stream. A rath (MA063-008) is located c. 90m to N.
Listed in the SMR (1991) and RMP (1997) as an enclosure on the basis of a subrectangular feature visible in an aerial photograph (GSI G 133-4; Roll 231, pr. 19) (SMR file). This possible enclosure is evident at ground level as a very slightly raised subcircular area (c. 14m N−S; c. 12m E−W) marked by an uneven, stony ground surface, with a few larger stones protruding from the sod in parts around the perimeter.
