In ringfort (MA063-029001-). A souterrain, indicated as ‘Cave’ is shown in the centre of the ringfort on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. A grassed-over rectangular depression (L 3m; Wth 0.8-1m; D 0.3m at NE, 0.8m at SW) is evident at ground surface, extending for 3m on a NE−SW axis. This represents a length of roofless, collapsed souterrain passage. At its deeper SW end two large slabs, displaced lintels, tip into the depression, and an in situ lintel covers an opening into an intact length of passage (Wth 1m) with drystone walls and lintel roofing, which extends to SW for several meters.
