What is recorded here

In rough, stony pasture, scattered with field clearance cairns, located on a low rise with generally good views. There is a higher rise to ESE. Roughly circular raised area (diam. 26.6m WNW–ESE) defined N–E by a scarp (H 1.5m; Wth slope 5.3m at NE), at SE–W by a low stony rise/stone bank (Wth c. 2.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m) and incorporated W–N into a later field wall. The enclosing scarp is quite substantial, broadly sloping and rather uneven, with field clearance stones piled against it in parts. The interior has an uneven, stone-strewn surface. There is a souterrain (MA062-128001-) in the SW quadrant. A field wall on a WNW–ESE axis bisects the interior roughly centrally. Dense blackthorn and brambles obscures much of the interior. A possible house (MA062-128002-) is located immediately to SE. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 26 January 2021
