What is recorded here

In pasture, located at the W end of an E−W ridge, with a steep fall of ground to W. There is a more gradual slope down to N, and also to the S where ground level dips and then rises again. Views are most extensive to W, overlooking an expanse of bog which stretches to SW. This possible rath is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 25-30m). It is depicted on the 1920 edition as a semicircular hachured area (diam. 25m N−S), curving S−W−N, with a possible external fosse on the NW arc, which is truncated by a NNW−SSE field boundary. It has been levelled. Slight undulations at ground level, and a single hawthorn tree at NW, partly define its original outline. A bowl barrow (MA052-009----) is located 100m to SE.
