Located on a headland on the SE shoreline of Lough Con.
This children’s burial ground is indicted on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps as a subrectangular enclosed area (c. 50m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) bordered at S by the lakeshore. It is named ‘Killeencormac Grave Yard’ on the 1838 map and ‘Rinnakilleen’ on the later edition, and is recorded in the 1838 OS Letters (O’Flanagan 1927, 27 (12)) as ‘a burying place for children’ and as the site of a church (MA048-057001-). An inspection in 1996 found that the location had been covered with large boulders during land reclamation works. According to local information it originally consisted of a circular area defined by a series of low upright stones.
