What is recorded here

Situated on top of a low, but prominent, heather-clad hill, affording panoramic views in all directions. This burial ground consists of a rectangular area (22.9m N-S; 20.85m E-W) enclosed by a relatively modern stone wall. The interior ground level is uneven. According to local information, it was used as a burial place of unbaptized babies and of drowned sailors who were washed up on the island. No headstones are visible. There is a dense growth of ferns in the interior. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 18 October 2018
