In pasture, located an area of gently undulating terrain, with good but not extensive views.
This enclosure is not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but is shown on later editions as a D-shaped walled enclosure, with the straight side at SW.
It is evident as a roughly D-shaped area (28.4m N−S; 25.4m E−W) defined by drystone stone walls (Wth 0.8-1m; H 0.8m). The wall on the straight side at SW is part of a NW−SE field wall, which extends beyond the enclosure. There is a gap (Wth 1.8m) at SE. The interior is not raised relative to exterior ground level, and slopes down slightly to E. The enclosing walls are similar in form and size to surrounding field walls, and merge with them. There is no convincing evidence that this is a rath or cashel; it may simply be a field enclosure of relatively recent date. Blackthorn, hazel and brambles ring the perimeter. There is another enclosure (MA040-068----).
