In a thicket of hazel and blackthorn, in the base of a steep-sided stream gully (Wth 6-8m; D c. 2m), on level ground c. 3m S of the W-flowing stream.
The well, named ‘Toberbreanal’ on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps, consists of a rectangular pit (1.1m NE−SW; 1.4m NW−SE; D 1m) with vertical, stone-faced sides, now largely moss-covered. There is an opening in the wall at the NW end, where two shallow steps lead down to the water. There is a penitential cairn (MA040-032001-) immediately to NE.
