In pasture, located on top of a NNE−SSW ridge, close to the break of slope on the NW side. The location provides panoramic views across N Mayo, with Nephin Mountain and the Nephin Beg Range defining the skyline to W, and the long spine of the Ox Mountains at E−S.
Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. Roughly oval mound (17m E−W; 13.7m N−S; H 0.8m at S, 1.7m at N) of earth and stones, largely sod-covered. It is gently domed in profile, with a somewhat flattened top (diam. c. 10-11m). The sloping sides are irregular or ragged in parts, with evidence of disturbance or quarrying at SSE. A field wall on a roughly E−W axis extends across the mound, slightly S of centre.
