What is recorded here

On Inishlee island in Lough Conn. A church is not indicated on the 1838 and 1930 OS 6-inch maps, however, the 1838 OS Letters mention ‘the ruins of the religious edifice’ on the island (Flanagan 1927, 262 (184)). It may have been associated with a burial ground (MA039-114002-), which was used as a children's burial ground (MA039-114003-). No remains of the church or burial ground were located during an inspection in 1996. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 13 March 2018
