What is recorded here

In pasture, located on a rise in gently undulating terrain, with excellent views in all directions. This possible rath is shown on the 1838 and 1930 OS 6-inch maps as a circular ringfort-like enclosure. It has been levelled; it is evident as a slightly raised subcircular area (c. 34m N–S; c. 31.5m E–W) defined on its perimeter by a broad low rise/scarp, which represents a levelled bank. It is most clearly defined on the S half, where the bank/scarp (Wth slope c. 7m; ext H 1.4m at S) is enhanced by the natural fall of ground. A rath (MA039-012----) is located 125m to S, and there is a megalithic structure (MA039-131----) 100m to SE. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 4 September 2019
