Located in damp pasture, reclaimed from bog. Rising ground c. 20m to W.
A layer (L c. 7m E–W; D 0.4m) of shattered sandstone fragments in a charcoal-rich matrix is visible in section, at a depth of c. 1m below field surface, in the S face of an E-W drain. It overlies peat, and is overlain by peaty soil, and by a field bank which borders the drain.
