In poorly drained pasture, planted with conifers, located at the base of the W slope of a low rise, close to the E bank of the Fiddaunglass stream, a tributary of the River Deel.
When discovered in 1996, this burnt mound was visible as a layer (D c. 0.3m) of angular burnt stone in a charcoal-rich matrix in two intersecting forestry trenches: The layer (L 6m) is visible in section in the E face of a N–S trench (W 0.9m) and also (L c. 4m) in the N face of a perpendicular trench (W 0.5m) that branches to the E. A thin layer of peaty soil overlies the burnt material. There is no trace of the mound at ground surface. One in a linear cluster of fulachtaí fia/burnt mounds (MA038-203--- to MA038-208----) located along the course of the stream.
