Located in pasture, in a sheltered location at the base of a natural NW-facing scarp of rising ground, which borders the S margin of an expanse of flat, wettish ground on the S bank of the River Deel.
A compact, grass-covered oval mound (11.6m NE-SW; 8.5m NW-SE; H 0.7m at SE, 1.20m at NW) composed of shattered sandstone in a charcoal-rich matrix. A burnt mound (MA038-183----) is located 25m to N and another (MA038-184----) is 25m to NE.
