What is recorded here

In pasture, in a sheltered damp location on the W side of a spring that rises at the base of a slope and flows into the River Deel 15m to N. This fulacht fia is evident as an elongated, roughly crescent-shaped mound (c. 13m NE-SW; c. 6m NW-SE; H 0.4m) of shattered sandstone in charcoal-rich soil. The curve of the mound encompasses a slight depression on the W side, which may be the location of a trough. The E side of the mound is incorporated into the line of a field bank on N-S axis. Past disturbance to the mound has given it a somewhat irregular shape, and its exact original plan and extend are uncertain. It is covered in mossy sod and heather. Another fulacht fia (MA038-176----) is located 7m to E, on the opposite side of the spring, and a burnt mound (MA038-179---) is 15m to NW. There is a rath (MA038-033----) is 15m upslope to S.
