What is recorded here

In pasture in undulating terrain, located on a rise with a steep slope on the E side. A stream/field drain skirts the base of the rise at NE–E and continues for 100m to S to meet the River Deel, which marks the townland boundary. This enclosure is shown on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps as a circular ringfort-sized enclosure (diam. c. 20m). It has been levelled; a low, flat-topped roughly circular rise (c. 14m E–W; 16-18m N–S), with a fall of ground on the E side, is evident. Adjacent field boundaries, which are shown to W, N and E on the 1922 OS 6-inch map, have been removed. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 25 July 2019
