In pasture, on a slight rise in an area of level ground surrounded by rolling terrain. The River Deel, which marks the S boundary of the townland, is 250m to SE.
This enclosure, most likely a rath, is named ‘Rathduff’ on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps. It has been levelled, but it is still possible to trace the outline of a roughly circular, slightly raised area (c. 25m N–S; c. 22m E–W) defined by a broad, low scarp.
