What is recorded here

Located on the SW-facing slope of a natural elevation, 50m NW of a river that flows through an expanse of mixed rough pasture and bogland. The area is now covered in coniferous forestry. Broadly oval area (c. 35m NE-SW; c. 25m NW-SE) defined by a low earthen bank, largely reduced to a scarp (H 0.45m at NW), and enclosed by a fosse (Wth 4.5m) with an external bank (Wth 3.5-4m; int. H 0.85m; ext. H 1m). Dense overgrowth impeded inspection of the rath. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 5 June 2018
