This record relates to a mound located in the vicinity of Palmyra, Ardnaree in the E part of Ballina town. It was recorded in (undated) National Museum Topographical Files as the find spot of a stone axe, which was sent to the museum. It was noted that ‘Cnoc na Fairsinge was the old name of the hill and the field next to it is known as Castle field', but no details of the exact nature and location of the mound were recorded.
