Listed in the SMR (1991) as 'Barracks'. The original source of information is not on file, and the date and exact location of these buildings is uncertain. It is possible that the buildings referred to are the two police barracks shown on the W bank of the river towards the N end of the town on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but which are not shown on the later edition. Those buildings, however, are likely to have been post-1700 in date.
