In pasture, located on a gentle, E-facing slope, with flat, wettish land to S, and good views generally.
Roughly circular, raised area (c. 23-25m N–S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 6.7m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.65m, at W), and enclosed by a fosse (Wth 3.5-4m, 2-2.5m at base), with remnants of an external bank (Wth 5m; int. H 1.6m; ext. H 0.5m, at W) on S–NW. On the W half of the rath, the inner bank is broadly slumped; on its inner face the slump merges with an E-facing slope in the W half of the interior. At N–SSE the inner bank is partly levelled, the fosse infilled and the external bank levelled, however it is difficult to examine this area as a substantial heap (H 1.5-2m) of field clearance debris has been piled up against the rath at E and S.
The interior is largely obscured by overgrowth, and the perimeter is densely ringed with trees and brambles.
