Located on the Mullet Peninsula, in flat pasture bordering the shoreline on the S side of Elly Harbour. This house was built in the late 1790’s/early1800’s by Denis Bingham, a younger son of the Bingham family, who settled on the Mullet Peninsula in the late 1790’s. It was built in castellated style, with a range of out-offices, including a chapel of easy (MA024-002004-), arranged around a courtyard at W, and extensive estate walls embellished with five towers (MA024-002002-; MA024-002003-; MA024-003----; MA024-004----; MA024-005----). Formal gardens, shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, were laid out to E and S of the house. It was abandoned by the Binghams in 1925. A process of gradual demolition was begun in 1929, and only slight remains are now visible.
