What is recorded here

This record refers to an early medieval church, called Domnach Mór (large/great church), which is mentioned in the Tripartite Life of St. Patrick. It is thought to have been in the Killala area (O’Flanagan 1927, 40-1 (17-20), 149-153 (80-1); Neary 1913-14, 23). The exact location of the church is unknown. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows only the centre of the wider government map area. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
