What is recorded here

In pasture, located on a terrace overlooked c. 30m to the E side by a rocky escarpment (H 2-3m), and defined at W by a broadly sloping fall of ground, giving good views over a broad expanse of lowlying coastal pasture. Shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular ringfort-sized enclosure, and on the 1922 edition as a D-shaped enclosure (diam. 25-30m) bordered on the straight side to S by a field boundary. This enclosure was levelled during land reclamation. There is no visible trace at ground level. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 13 November 2018

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
