What is recorded here

This record is listed in the SMR (1981) as ‘monument’ based on a reference in Westropp (1912, 116) to ‘..the interesting monument (illustrated by Otway) at Ballyglass between Dunfeeny and Ballycastle..'. It is likely that it refers to one of two court tombs (MA007-045001-; MA007-046) which are located close to Ballycastle village. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 24 July 2014

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
