In pasture 145m S of well (LI057-056----). Annotated ‘Carheen fort’ on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map where it is depicted as a rectangular-shaped area defined by a scarp with lime-kiln in SW corner. It is shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a roughly square-shaped area (dims. c. 30m NE-SW; 30m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank. Truncated at N and S by field boundary running N-S. Barry (1981, 84) listed the monument as a possible moated site. Outline of monument delimited by trees is visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
