What is recorded here

In wet pasture, on a slight S-facing slope. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as two sub- rectangular shaped areas defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised square-shaped area defined by a scarp. Surveyed in 1999 and described as a slightly raised sub-circular shaped area (dims. 25m N-S; 34m E-W) defined by a scarp (Wth 1m; H 0.4m) and external bank (Overall Wth 5.1m; int. H 1m; ext. D 0.8m) with intervening fosse (base Wth 3.9m) from S-W-NW. A field boundary running NW-SE truncates the NE half of the site and no surface trace visible at E. A modern cattle break (Wth 1m) visible at NW. Monument visible as square-shaped area enclosed by a tree lined fosse and bank on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
