In pasture, on slight NW-facing slope with excellent views from S-NNE, 20m NE of the River Aherlow that forms townland boundary with Ballynamuddagh. An enclosure (LI050-012---) lies 110m to the NW. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map as a raised circular-shaped area defined by a scarp, intersected at NE by a post-1700 field boundary running N-S. Shown on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank with external fosse from SE-S-W-NW. Surveyed by the ASI in 1999, described as a slightly raised circular-shaped area (23.7m N-S; 24m E-W) enclosed by a bank (Overall Wth 4.5m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.45m) with waterlogged fosse incorporated into a field boundary. Possible entrance gap (Wth 3.1m) at NNE and modern gap (Wth 1.3m) at W. Overgrown interior slopes slightly to NW but raised slightly to compensate for natural slope. Scrub-covered monument visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
