What is recorded here

At W end of a mixed conifer and deciduous tree plantation on W of slope of Duntryleague Hill, the summit (922 ft., 281m) of which lies 950m to E. Quarry (LI049-073----) lies 65m to E. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Potential site identified as a circular feature during examination of aerial photographs (BGE 1/10,000, 80) taken 03/11/1984 on the Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline. Overgrown area visible on Google Earth orthoimages may have been associated with adjacent well and quarry to E both of which are depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. Earthwork may be associated with the 'Well' that is shown at this location on the 25-inch map. See attached Bórd Gáis Éireann aerial photograph and Google Earth orthoimages.
