In reclaimed pasture 500m W of the River Aherlow that marks the townland boundary with Lyre and 200m E of townland boundary with Ballyfauskeen. Possible ringfort (LI049-201----) lies 205m to SW. Not depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped raised area (diam. c. 20m) defined by a scarp. Identified as a destroyed ringfort (Site 3/7) on examination of Bord Gáis Éireann aerial photographs taken 03/11/1984. Visible as a faint circular-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages. See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
