In reclaimed pasture, 200m S of the River Aherlow that marks the townland boundary with Galbally. Earthwork with Killenellig Church site (LI049-156002-) in centre. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised circular-shaped area defined by a scarp. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised sub-rectangular shaped area (dims. c. 27m N-S; 30m E-W defined by a scarp, with fosse and outer bank from SW-W-N-NE, incorporated into a post-1700 field boundary from E-S-SW. Levelled earthwork visible as an irregular-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
