In pasture, 85m SW of a watercourse that forms townland boundary with Knockaunnacurra. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6 inch map as a raised circular shaped platform defined by a scarp, intersected at NE, SE and SW by post-1700 field boundaries. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (dims. c. 26m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed by a bank with a gap at SE, incorporated into a field boundary from SW-W-N-E-SE with external fosse incorporated into a field boundary from SE-S-SW. In 1840 the Ordnance Survey recorded this monument as one of 'three ancient forts' in the townland (OSNB Abbeyfeale to Bruree, 229). Monument visible as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a tree lined bank on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages. See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
