In pasture 220m S of a roadway that marks the townland boundary with Tobernea East. Possible ringfort (LI047-075001-) lies to immediate W. Annotated ‘Knockannaskeagh forts’ on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map where it is depicted as one of two circular enclosures located either side of a field boundary. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised semi-circular shaped area (dims. c. 15m NE-SW; 8m NW-SE) defined by a scarp from SW-W-NE, defined by a curving field boundary from S-W-NE. No surface remains visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13. Scrub-covered earthwork possibly visible on Google Earth orthoimages. See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
