What is recorded here

According to Westropp (1904-5, 404) site of parish church of Rathcahill 'forgotten in the townland'. However, according to local information it was located across the road from Lady's Well (LI044-006---) in what is now the grounds of a house. No visible trace here now of church or enclosure. This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
