What is recorded here

Discovered during the course of a test excavation (License No. 21E0141) in response to a planning application (Ref. 21/1558). A small rectangular-shaped area (5.2m NW-SE; 2.5m NE-SW) defined by a continuous ditch (max. Wth 0.6m). The extent of the NE corner of the feature was not possible to discern due to an electric field fence and a farm trackway. The enclosing ditch is cut into the subsoil and varies slightly in width from 0.4m at NW where it was the narrowest, to 0.6m at NE. In response to mitigation the rectangular feature was preserved in-situ. Compiled by: Matt Kelleher based on a report submitted by Alison McQueen & Associates Date of upload/revision: 25 July 2023
