What is recorded here

In reclaimed pasture. Identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 53; AP 5/2072) as a large irregular-shaped cropmark of a possible enclosure. Monument visible as a large irregular-shaped cropmark (dims. c. 94m N-S x 50m E-W) on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 05/04/2006. Numerous linear cropmarks visible may represent drainage channels of land reclamation works associated with Baggotstown House. Earthwork may have been formed by drainage channels associated with land reclamation, of doubtful antiquity. See attached Bruff survey image showing cropmark labelled Bruff 53 and Google Earth orthoimages. Compiled by: Fiona Rooney Date of upload: 24 June 2021
