What is recorded here

In pasture, occupying a natural dip on break in SW-facing hill slope. Roughly circular area (36m N-S; 38m E-W) defined by scarped edge NW->W and enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.85m) W->NW. External fosse, depicted on 1923 OS 6-inch map W->NE, is now covered by dense overgrowth. Scarp (H 1.35m; Wth 1.15), best preserved S->W, dips at SE for c. 5m, and is denuded by cattle at WSW. Level interior under pasture. Deciduous trees grow along top edge of scarp with two mature examples at SSE and NE respectively. Farm passage runs tangentially to SW arc. Low field boundary abuts at NW.
