In pasture, on steep S-facing slope, with a coniferous plantation immediately to NE. Circular area (diam. 17m) enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 0.95m; ext. H 0.15m) W->ESE, and defined by a scarped edge (H 0.7m; Wth 3m) ESE->W, with an external earthen bank (int. H 2.3m; ext. H 1.1m) and fosse (D 1.2m; Wth 2.6m) around full circumference. Enclosing element has steeper profile on N side due to slope of terrain, and is overgrown by scrub and bushes. Gap (Wth 2m) through banks at SSE has been recently modified to allow access to interior by farm machinery. Outer fosse partially infilled with farm debris and manure. Field boundary runs to outer line of fosse at NE. Interior slopes down to S and is under rough pasture; a cattle shed stands on S side atop scarp.
