In improved wet pasture, liable to floods and 20m NW of the Ballynamona River which also marks a townland boundary with Ballinlough. Enclosure (LI032-262----) lies 145m to SW. Monument is not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 297: AP4/3611) as a circular-shaped earthwork defined by a fosse. Upstanding monument is visible as a well preserved circular-shaped earthwork (diam. 27m) defined by a fosse and an outer bank, as seen on aerial photograph (ASIAP 352, 12) taken 05/01/2003, on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage 20/09/2020.
