Stone fort described by O'Kelly (1944, 22) as following; 'Now very collapsed but seems to have had a stone rampart which remains to a height of 2' 6" [0.76m]. The entrance is not recognisable. Overall diameter 98' [30m]. It lies on the W. slope of Knockainy Hill just inside the Hill Fort bank described above'. In 2004 this cashel was described as 'This circular site measures 19m east-west and is surrounded by a stone bank. No evidence of coursing was noted. The dished interior did not contain any features and no entrance was visible' (Condit and Coyne 2004). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 09 August 2019
