In improved pasture, on grounds of Kilballyowen House, 70m N of current access road which lies 700m W of a townland boundary with Knockainy. Ring-barrow (LI032-126002-) lies to the immediate E. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified by Grogan (1989, 234) as a circular-shaped cropmark labelled ‘Kilballyowen 1’. Monument is not visible on OSi orthoimages taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018. The precise location of this monument cannot be confirmed without access to thesis which is not included in the paper file.
