What is recorded here

On flat pasture 260m W of the townland boundary with Cahirguillamore. The ecclesiastic ecclesiastical enclosure of Killorath [LI031-040001-); burial ground (LI031-040002-) with a cross inscribed pillar (LI031-040003-) is located 65m to W. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Some rough ground in the field is visible at the site of the enclosure on the OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12 and on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013, although it is not enough to define the site. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 41: AP 4/3598) as a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 20m) bisected by two relic field boundaries. The mound is not clear on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. See attached Bruff survey image showing the site labelled Bruff 41 and Google Earth orthoimage Compiled by: Edmond O’Donovan Date of upload: 6 October 2020
