What is recorded here

In reclaimed pasture, 217m W of townland boundary with Dunkip, 310m SE of enclosure (LI031-054----) and 230m NE of Clorane House. Post-1700 fish-pond 180m to S and laneway providing access to Clorane House runs around the S side of the earthwork. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped enclosure (diam. c. 20m), with large roughly circular shaped area defined by a curving field boundary on W side of monument. The small enclosure depicted as an antiquity is not shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map suggesting that the monument has been levelled between these two map dates. On this map the large roughly circular-shaped field boundary is outlined as a large oval-shaped area (dims. 91m N-S x 76m E-W) defined by a field boundary with external fosse from S-SW. Faint trace of levelled enclosure visible as oval-shaped cropmark with possible levelled ringfort in NE quadrant, on the OSi orthophoto taken 2005-2012 and Google Earth orthoimage taken 14/02/2020. Possible levelled ringfort which stands in NE quadrant of large enclosure or field which was associated with Clorane House.
