In reclaimed rough pasture, 38m S of a stream forming townland boundary with Monaster South, 300m NW of enclosure (LI031-054---). Clorane House lies 450m to S. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as semi-circular shaped area (40m NW-SE x 15m NE-SW), defined by a tree lined field boundary from SE-W-NW and intersected at E by a field boundary running NW-SE. Not depicted as an antiquity on this OSi map but as a tree-lined field boundary possibly associated with landscaping of Clorane House. The 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map depicts a bank from S-W-NW and field boundary at E. Monument visible as faint trace of semi-circular shaped cropmark, at rear of new dwelling on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. Could be the remains of a ringfort reused as a designed landscape feature associated with Clorane House. See attached Google Earth orthoimages Compiled by: Fiona Rooney Date of upload: 23 March 2021
