On a slightly raised area in pasture, 290m E of the 12th century Cistercian abbey of Monasteranenagh (LI031-050004-) and 200m W of the Camoge River. Abbey Ville House and walled garden 400m to SW. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a tree-covered polygonal-shaped earthwork intersected at S by a field boundary running E-W. Not depicted as an antiquity on this OSi map but as a tree-covered plantation possibly associated with landscaping works of Abbey Ville. The OSi 25-inch map shows a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. c. 28m NE-SW, 22m NW-SE) enclosed by a field boundary with external fosse. Monument is visible as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a tree covered bank on OSi orthophotos 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 14/02/2020. Could be the remains of a ringfort reused as a designed landscape feature associated with Abbey Ville.
