What is recorded here

In pasture on the former Deerpark on the demesne lands of Cahir Guillamore House. In centre of cashel (LI031-041017-). Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a possible souterrain by Ó Ríordáin and Hunt (1942, 41) and described as follows: ‘There is a long narrow depression in the interior which may be a collapsed souterrain’. No surface trace visible on OSi orthoimage taken between 2005-12 or on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 20/09/2020. The depression recorded in 1942 may be related to the OS trig. station marking 320 ft. OD that is depicted ont he 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map rather than remains of a collapsed souterrain.
