On gently undulating arable land 190m NW of the townland boundary with Croom. The Early Christian monastery of Dysert Aenghusa with its round tower, church and graveyard (LI030-018001/4-) is located 350m to NW. The site is not depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map but is depicted as an oblong mound (ext. dims. c. 16m NE-SW; 25m NW-SE) in a field on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. The site is visible as a mound in ploughed field on both the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. The mound is visible on the Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
