In pasture, atop E-W ridge with extensive view in all directions. Cylindrical (H c. 8m; Wth above base batter 5.75m) kiln built of coursed limestone, and disguised as neo-Gothic tower with prominent base batter and cut-limestone twin-light windows at 1st-floor level; top of walls now encased with ivy. Kiln opening, on N side, consists of arched opening (H 2.3m; Wth 2.6m) which narrows behind (D 3.3m) and is covered by downward-inclined lintels; base of opening blocked with rubble. Attached to W side of kiln is earthen ramp (Wth 1.6m; L 15m) retained by limestone walls. At top of ramp doorway with double-arched head gives access to 'room' which contains top of circular funnel opening (diam. 2m) now entirely blocked with rubble.
