In pasture, on NW shoulder of valley; terrain slopes away sharply to S into valley. Roughly circular steep-sided flat topped (diam. c. 3m) earthen mound (H 7.75m; Base diam. c. 40m), with external fosse (D c. 2.2m; Base Wth 2.25m) and counterscarp bank (ext. H 0.25m) SE-NW. Fosse crossed by causeway (Wth 7m) at W. SE side of mound has been quarried leaving profile of that side very uneven; N side is covered in dense overgrowth of trees and bushes. Field boundary abuts base of mound to NW, then skirts around base of mound to SE where it travels away to SE; field boundary covered by dense overgrowth of bushes where it skirts mound. L-shaped section of mortared stone wall (H c. 1.6m) built into face of mound at W.This is probably site referred to by Molony (1905, 260) as 'a tumulus unexplored, popularly known as the Odell Banshee Mound'.
