In centre of graveyard (LI029-092002-). Only possible remains of church is low stone wall (L c. 4.85m; Wth 1.05m) extending W from recently built-up grave vault; this probably represents the remains of the wall described in 1840 as 'twelve feet [3.65m] long and nine feet [2.7m] high' and identified as part of 'an old church' (OSL vol. 2, 62). Parish of Kilcolman Superior listed in 14th and 15th century (Westropp 1904-5, 392); according to Lewis (1837, ) church here 'destroyed in the war of 1641, and has not been rebuilt'.
Church ruins described in 1840 as 'There was an old Church in the Townland of Kilcolman of which only a side wall twelve feet long [3.65m] and nine feet [2.7m] high now remains. This wall is made of large field stones cemented with lime and sand mortar. There is a large burial ground here (LI029-092002-), at present much' (OSL, 62).
